Buyer’s Guide to Choosing Hi-Risk Gloves

Hi-risk gloves provide heavier-duty hand protection for industrial, medical, emergency-response and demanding cleaning applications. Insinc’s range includes high-risk nitrile and latex gloves in sizes from small to 2X-large, generally supplied in cartons of 500 gloves.

Options include powder-free examination gloves, dark or cobalt-blue latex gloves and selected long-cuff products with a 300mm cuff for added wrist and forearm coverage.

Latex or Nitrile Hi-Risk Gloves?

Latex gloves offer flexibility and a close fit, but they may not be suitable for users with natural rubber latex sensitivities. Nitrile gloves provide a latex-free alternative and may be preferred where resistance to selected chemicals, oils or punctures is required.

Protection varies between products, so check the glove’s material, thickness, cuff length and applicable standards rather than relying on the “hi-risk” description alone.

How Do You Choose the Correct Size and Protection?

A correctly fitted glove should remain secure without restricting movement or causing excessive hand fatigue. Sizes range from small to 2X-large, making it easier to equip different users appropriately.

Confirm that the glove is approved for the intended medical, chemical or industrial task. Disposable hi-risk gloves should be replaced when torn, contaminated or after completing the task, and they do not replace correct handwashing or workplace PPE procedures.
