Buyer’s Guide to Choosing Aluminium Foil Wrap

Aluminium foil is useful for wrapping, covering, cooking, storing and transporting food in cafés, restaurants, caterers and commercial kitchens. Insinc’s range includes standard and heavy-duty foil rolls, pre-cut foil sheets and pop-up sheets in dispenser boxes.

Roll widths range from approximately 300mm to 440mm, with commercial lengths of 90m or 150m. Pre-cut sheets are available in small, medium and large sizes, generally supplied in boxes of 500.

Foil Rolls or Pre-Cut Sheets?

Foil rolls allow staff to cut the exact amount required for trays, containers and larger food items. A 300mm roll suits everyday wrapping tasks, while wider 440mm rolls provide more coverage for catering trays and bulk food preparation.

Pre-cut and pop-up sheets can improve speed and consistency in busy kitchens. Small sheets suit compact portions, while medium and large sheets provide more coverage for takeaway meals, sandwiches and food wrapping.

Standard or Heavy-Duty Foil?

Standard foil is suitable for general wrapping, lining and covering. Heavy-duty and extra-heavy-duty options are thicker and may be preferred for larger food items, heavier trays or applications requiring greater resistance to tearing.

Selected products range from approximately 13 to 25 microns. Choose the width, thickness and roll length according to the intended task, and avoid using aluminium foil where the manufacturer or cooking appliance advises against it.
