Which Confectionery Bag Size Should You Choose?

Small No. 0 to No. 2 bags suit individual sweets, biscuits and small portions. Medium No. 3 to No. 5 bags provide more room for pastries, slices and multiple confectionery items, while larger No. 6 to No. 8 bags suit bigger bakery products or larger orders.

Because these bags are flat and do not have gusseted sides or bases, allow extra width for thicker products. Bulky items may be better suited to a block-bottom or gusseted paper bag.

Standard or Recycled White Paper Bags?

Standard confectionery bags are available in a wide range of numbered sizes, with selected Matthews products made from 35gsm or 40gsm paper. Vegware also offers recycled white kraft bags in square formats from 178mm to 305mm.

Check the exact dimensions rather than relying only on the bag number, as sizes may vary between brands. Several Castaway products and selected Detpak bags are no longer available, so choose from current UniPak, Fortune, Vegware, Matthews or Detpak alternatives.
