Buyer’s Guide to Choosing Cut-Resistant Safety Gloves

Cut-resistant gloves help reduce hand injuries when handling materials with sharp edges, such as sheet metal, glass, packaging, tools and industrial components. Insinc’s range includes Komodo, Komodo Vigilant and Bastion HPPE gloves in Cut 1, Cut 3 and Cut 5 options.

Sizes range from Small to XX-Large, with selected styles available in packs of 12 pairs or bulk cartons of up to 120 pairs. Touchscreen-compatible and high-visibility options are also available for specialised workplace needs.

Which Cut Level Should You Choose?

Cut 1 gloves suit lower-risk handling tasks where basic protection and dexterity are required. Cut 3 gloves provide a higher level of protection for moderately sharp materials, while Cut 5 gloves are intended for more demanding cut hazards.

Cut-level numbers should not be compared without checking the test standard used for the specific product. A workplace risk assessment should identify the required cut resistance, and buyers should confirm the glove’s current certification, puncture resistance, abrasion performance and intended use before ordering.

Standard, Touchscreen or HPPE Gloves?

Komodo gloves are available in standard, individually tagged and touchscreen-compatible versions. Touchscreen styles allow workers to operate compatible devices without regularly removing their gloves, helping maintain protection during scanning, inventory and equipment tasks.

Bastion HPPE gloves include grey, blue and high-visibility orange or green options. High-visibility liners may help gloves stand out in busy work areas, but colour does not indicate the protective rating.

Choose the correct size to maintain grip, dexterity and comfort. Cut-resistant gloves are not cut-proof and may not provide protection against needles, chemicals, heat or powered blades unless specifically rated for those hazards. Replace gloves when torn, heavily worn or contaminated.
