Buyer’s Guide to Choosing Regular Disposable Food Containers

Regular disposable food containers provide practical packaging for takeaway meals, catering, baking, deli products and prepared foods. Insinc’s range includes foil trays, plastic-lidded meal containers, pie dishes, snack boxes, catering platters and compartment trays.

Options range from small single-serve pie dishes to large Gastronorm containers and multi-compartment meal trays, with carton quantities suited to cafés, bakeries, restaurants and commercial food-service operations.

Foil, Plastic or Cardboard Containers?

Foil containers suit pies, baked dishes, hot meals and catering portions. Shallow and deep formats are available, including square, oblong, round, half-Gastronorm and multi-compartment trays.

Plastic containers and polypropylene lids provide clear or secure packaging for selected takeaway meals and trays. Cardboard snack boxes and paper food pails may suit chips, burgers and dry takeaway foods, although several listed Castaway products are no longer available in New Zealand.

How Do You Match Containers and Lids?

Lids are not universally interchangeable. Match the lid to the container’s product code, shape, dimensions and capacity. Confoil polypropylene lids, for example, are designed for specific DP-series trays, while foil containers may require a corresponding board lid.

Consider whether you need a shallow or deep tray, a single or divided compartment, and a lid for transport. Several products are obsolete or out of stock, so contact Insinc for a current alternative when your preferred container is unavailable.
